Play 3arabi is a mobile games publisher focused on the Arab speaking Middle East.  Ahmed Alsafer, Joseph Shomali and Samer Abbas founded the company in 2014 to focus on publishing games targeting the Arab World. The founding team uses its extensive experience in the global games industry to select games that fill the large market need for Arabic speaking gamers.

The global mobile games industry is valued at $36.9 billion by end of 2016 according to Newzoo. Ovum Research estimates the Middle East mobile games market at $1 billion in 2016, with a 29% year-on-year growth rate.

El Shlakany added: “Play 3arabi is our second investment in the games industry, joining our Alexandria-based Cryptyd, Inc. We see the games market as an attractive one and while there are many startups in this area, we have been very selective in our approach. We are active on the board of our portfolio companies and work closely with them to facilitate their progress and success.”
